we touch right to the nerve

we touch right to the nerve

of each other’s bodies

we do it without cutting open

or seeing blood

we feel each other right to the marrow of the bone

we rock each other to our most neurological core

be kind in my deeds and words

it might be intangible and unseen 

but one rough word or unchecked gesture

can cut where more than blood will bleed
