my head nestled between the velvet leaves of the proteas
my ribs finding a cradle in the soft moist earth
my ankles flying with the spritely flowers of the butterfly bush
my eyes getting lost in the purple hearts of the pelargonium
caress my cheeks with the pillowiness of the clusters of hydrangeas
tickle my nose with the tinkling bunches of wisterias
sing my restless thighs to sleep
with the soft humming of the pincushions
oh sleep is sweetest amongst the flowers
slip a beaming yellow hibiscus behind my ear
while my lips tremor its last wakefulness
against the petals of the wild rose
the flowers will flower
because they know not what else to do!
the girl will fall asleep amongst the flowers
because there is no better place
