the little flowers growing closest to the ground
are the best yoga teachers in the world!
effortlessly they succeed
to get me to crouch down on all fours

without word or gesture
i am guided to
press my knees against the earth
bend my head forward
open palms gently to push aside the grasses
and get as close a look at the teensy-weensy flowers

and it does not end there!

my head is pulled even further 

to stick my nose right into their little faces

i have to see if they smell of anything
